Summer Term Sports Report
The Summer Term, as always, has been very exciting. After school clubs have shown a very strong attendance and have included cricket, rounders, multiskills, athletics, outdoor adventure and dodgeball (everyone’s favourite!). Intra competitive sport has been played in all classes during PE lessons and as whole school events. Inter competitive sport has been played by a large number of children this term. They have taken part in CLP competitions as well as inter area competitions. We had five children get through to the inter area cross country team and some children being picked up as gifted and talented in football by Saints Southwest. We held a fantastic Academy Sports Day at Yeovil Athletics Arena where ALL children threw longer, ran faster, jumped further and demonstrated outstanding sporting values. We also held our own Sports Day on the field where the children competed for their house colour team – Blue Team won this year. ALL the children who have taken part in an after school club, intra/inter sport have really taken on board the school games’ sporting values of ‘honesty, respect, determination, teamwork, passion and self-belief’.
