Our School

Huish Episcopi Primary School has 5 classes and caters for pupils from the age of 4 to 11. It is situated in Langport at the heart of the Somerset Levels. The school is housed in a beautiful Victorian building, which occupies an elevated central position. The accommodation consists of 5 classrooms, an ICT suite, an Arts and cookery room, hall, library area as well as meeting/group rooms and offices. We are fortunate enough to have a sizeable playground as well as an attractive school field. The Levels Children’s Centre is situated on the adjoining site and through our partnership we aim to provide many benefits to the children and families we both serve.

Huish Episcopi Primary School is a school, which takes pride in being ‘involved’. We recognise that children learn in different ways and through a range of experiences and this is why we complement our formal curriculum with a full enrichment programme of visits, visitors, sporting, musical and creative experiences and a comprehensive programme of out of hours learning.
In fact in a recent survey our school was shown to have higher participation levels in sport than any other school in the partnership.

We believe that children will learn best when they are encouraged to ‘aim high’ and are given the necessary support and challenge to do so. This is encompassed by our mission statement which is ‘Inspiring….Believing…Achieving’.
Many people comment on the school’s warm welcoming atmosphere. The staff team are hardworking and committed and are ably supported by parents and Governors. In the past year we have gained several awards. We have gained Activemark and Silver Level for Eco Schools, Healthy Schools and FMSIS for good financial management..
Supportive relationships are crucial to each child’s success. We encourage parents/carers to be fully involved and work in partnership with us to provide the best education for their child. Our home/school agreement endorses this commitment.
Choosing a school for your child is one of the most crucial decisions parents make. In deciding on Huish Episcopi Primary School, we recognise the trust you have placed in us and will do our utmost to ensure that we provide the best education we can for your child.
