Mystery to be solved in Isle Class!

Disaster Struck in Isle class and the children were transformed into detectives to solve a murder case!

Disaster Struck in Isle class and the children were transformed into detectives to solve a murder case!

Part of our Literacy work involved looking at where words come from and the meaning of place names.  Did you know that Langport used to be known as Longport?

The children made up their own town and spent part of the week writing newspaper articles about things that happened there.  Then, disaster struck!  The local hairdresser, Mrs Brush, was murdered.

Solving the crime involved interviewing the 'suspects' who lived in the town and then deciding who the murderer was and why they had committed this dreadful crime.  Two of the children were spot on with both - and everyone had great fun and thought very hard about the mystery.

The newspaper reports covering the crime will be published on this website very soon!
